Bronisław Chromy
Studies: Faculty of Sculpture, Academy of Fine Arts, Krakow. Diploma under the direction of Prof Xawery Dunikowski, 1956. Since 1975 lecturer at his alma mater, where he performed the function of pro-vice-chancellor. Laureate of the Award of the Krakow City (1973); Grand Prix for medal dedicated to Dante, Ravenna (1973); 1st degree Award of the Council of Ministers (1979). Awarded: Officer’s Cross and Knight’s Cross of the Order Polonia Restituta; Medal of National Education Committee. Author of outdoor projects, inter alia: Monument to Polish Soldiers, Katowice; Monument to Polish Pilots, Krakow; Monument to Bartosz Głowacki in Racławice; Monument to Polish Soldiers Fallen in the Battle of Britain, Military Cemetery, Brookwood near London; Oświęcim Pieta; Dragon of Wawel. Author of monumental and small scale sculptures, medals.
