Jarosław Kozakiewicz

Date of birth 1961

Studies: Faculty of Sculpture, Academy of Fine Arts, Warsaw, 1981-1985 and The Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art, New York, 1985–1988. Professor of Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw. Sculptor, author of architectural projects inspired by ecology, genetics, physics, astronomy and ancient cosmological concepts, exploring the references with micro- and macro-cosmos.  Among others, the artist’s pursuits resulted in his utopian projects in the field of architecture, urban development and land art. In 2006 Kozakiewicz represented Poland during the International Exhibition of Architecture in Venice. Laureate of awards, inter alia the 1st  prize in the competition for the project of development of post-industrial area in Boxberg, Germany (2003); Awards of the Association of the Club of Artistic Critique ‘Pokaz’ (2004); 1st prize in the international competition for the concept of Park of Reconciliation in Oświęcim (2005); 1st prize in the competition for the project of sculpture in Stuttgart (2006); award of the Arteon Magazine (2007); special distinction in the competition for the project of the building of the Museum of Modern Art in Warsaw (2007).
