Made of plastic, the figure of Mary the Immaculate is a typical mass product from a shop with devotional objects. By cutting off the base and placing a shining diode inside the figure, as well as by situating the object above the viewers’ eyes, the artist changed the system of perception. The figure seen from below shows its illuminated interior, giving the sculpture a metaphysical character.
