Studies: Lewin-Funcke Schule Berlin, 1916-1918, then at the studio Kunstgewerbeschule, Munich. Member of the group of Polish Expressionists (with Leon Chwistek, Tytus Czyżewski and Stanisław Ignacy Witkiewicz) which took the name ‘Formists’. From 1923 to 1940 he lived in France, and afterwards went to Brazil for the period 1940-1955, where he set up and conducted a school of sculpture in Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo. Since 1955 he lived and worked in France. Author of the monument of Frederic Chopin in Rio de Janeiro, 1944.
