Studies: Academy of Fine Arts, Krakow, in the studios of Władysław Jarocki, Józef Mehoffer, 1932–1936, and in the sculpture studio of Professor Xawery Dunikowski, 1936–1938. Continued studies at the Académie de la Grande Chaumière, Paris, 1938–1939. In 1940 he managed to leave France for London, where he got affiliated to the circles of emigrant artists, then left for Carrara. This period was presented by Stanisław Patera in the film Tadeusz Koper – Return to the Sources. Stipend from the British government, 1949.
