Studies: Faculty of Painting, Academy of Fine Arts, Warsaw (1953-1959). Diploma in Prof Michał Bylina’s studio. Since his graduation, a lecturer at the Faculty of Painting of his alma mater. Laureate of the Cyprian Kamil Norwid Award (1970). Painter, photographer, author of environments, happenings. Co-founder of the Foksal Gallery, since 1971 actor of Tadeusz Kantor’s Theatre ‘Cricot 2’. Over the years of his work, Gostomski drew inspiration from extremely diverse artistic trends, making projects following conceptual ideas, as well as abstract ones, with characteristic austerity of means.
