Sphinx was built from about ten thousand matchboxes. The material used for the construction of the sculpture is a contradiction of the idea of a monument. Sphinx is dedicated to ‘The Great Builders: starting from pharaohs to Stalin’, representing ideologies based on totalitarian systems.
