Monads
Hanna Nowicka
The exhibition “Monads” will present works from 2000-2023 referring to the body as a subject entangled in the emotional sphere, connecting with the notion of closeness and its ambivalent character. The second aspect addressed in the exhibition is the question of how the body/subject is formed by the cultural and social context. The body experiences pressure, loss, violence, alienation.
Describing her works, the artist states: “My objects/sculptures are made of nude rubber, which for me is a kind of substitute for the body and skin, and its haptic dimension uniquely defines the representation”.
