In the 1950s he was making sculptures addressing the theme of war. He reached the prime of his career in the 60s. In that time he made sculptures of biological motifs, with a synthesis of shape and a smooth, polished surface. In the 70s, the artist started to work with hard wood, thanks to which he could obtain similar effects to the earlier stone sculpture.
