OPEN CALL to Artists

10 May 2023 – 10 July 2023

International Symposium of Contemporary Sculpture

4th Edition: 2023

We are inviting artists to take part in the International Symposium of Contemporary Art. The project is an important element of the Centre’s programme and is supported by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage and private entities. The programme of the event includes workshops for professional sculptors and young volunteers acting as assistants, students/graduates of artistic universities, as well as lectures and discussions concerning important challenges of contemporary culture and ways artists face those challenges, including the verification of the usability of traditional techniques and materials in the context of searching for new forms of artistic expression and new techniques and materials to develop the field of sculpture and widen the audience thereof.

Based on the verification of projects, the Centre will choose the participants. During the event they will create their original spacious projects on: Damages and repairs, which will be exhibited in the park in Orońsko.

Projects can be created by use of all techniques and materials which can be contrasted with the nature and exhibited in the outdoor space. The participants will carry out their artistic activities on the basis of CRP’s technical resources in cooperation with the Centre’s employees and volunteers acting as their assistants. The Symposium will be summed up with meetings with invited guests who are interested in and deal with the perception and functioning of sculpture.

Date of the Symposium: 3–17 September 2023
Organiser: Centrum Rzeźby Polskiej in Orońsko
